Barbara Beus

Barbara Beus considers herself a global citizen feeling at home anywhere in the world. She has travelled extensively and lived in several countries such as France, Germany and the United States of America. She began drawing portraits when she was fourteen and has created works in portraiture, landscape and in abstract versions of the same. Her favourite medium has been watercolour and pen and ink, simply because while travelling it is easiest to work with. She works with oils during the winter in her studio. Her interests are reflected in the special series she creates of about 20 to 40 pieces in each. Barbara Beus is looking back onto experiences in the professional worlds of graphics and teaching art which shaped and honed her techniques and the way of seeing the world around her. She presently has chosen to live with her husband in a simple stone house which is situated in the beautiful Garrigue of Southeastern France.
